“Best Fish on South Shore” 5 of 5 stars September 2015
Fresh goodness, right on the water, family run, seasonal, pretty, can get there by boat, tidal, across form merry go round and beach, inside and out side seating, fish store in house, to go in house, something new to look at each year when they reopen in April, loyal clientele and workers, clean clean clean, i go at least once at week when they first open, love the lobster bisk- best ever- and the bread - are crisp, french, warm rolls. I compare everywhere i go to Jakes. Worked there as a younger person so know what goes on behind the scenes, remember when the son bought in to become a partner. He was so happy. NOw i see my students workng there. Service is quick, help is pretty diverse for south shore - meals come quickly, nice selection of wines, Right at the beginning of Hull so easy to find. What more so you want?
“Consistently Good.” 5 of 5 stars
Whenever our grandchildren visit from CO, Jake's is always on their list of things they want to do. They are 9 and 13 now but have always been 'foodies' and appreciate the tasty and fresh food at Jake's. See more from TripAdvisor

The salmon my mother and I had was absolutely delicious. The food was still steaming as it can to our table. The fried food is not bad at all, as it is less breaded than the standard fries food. Absolutely loved it here, will definitely be paying them another cost next time I come back.

Food was delicious and fresh. Excellent service even on a busy Saturday night. Great view. Family friendly. Highly recommend and look forward to our next visit!

I went to this restaurant by accident and it was so great! I had fabulous raw oysters and clam chowder. Delicious! My husband had a 1.5 lb lobster and it was so tender and tasty. Our waitress was also the sweetest and recommended everything that was fabulous! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

If you want the freshest seafood at great prices in an authentic location, Jakes is your place. The Captain is a legend as is the lobster. Had swordfish last time and it was to die for! Jakes, you rock....!

I grew up in Oregon with quite a few years on the coast to boot so I am well qualified to say that seafood doesn't get much better (at least I can't imagine it doing so) . See more from Google
Springtime Seafood Supper
5 of 5 stars
Every spring there is an especially warm evening that feels more like summer and I start to wonder when Jakes Seafood will open for the season. Jake's is a family owned restaurant that has been a fixture on the Hull shoreline for more than 50 years. Every winter they close up and then just when the snow clears and a woman's fancy turns to fried clams they return.
The fish is always fresh and clean tasting and that quality shines in the simplest dishes such as Cedar Planked Salmon or the rare Ahi Tuna Steak. I also love the Italian family recipes especially the Calamari Marinara.
I can't start a meal at Jake's without their lobster bisque which is creamy and rich with lobster but also has a spicy little kick. And speaker of lobster, the deep fried lobster meat is over the top good. When we go with a crowd we ge a long table on the deck and order a few different fried seafood plates and dry white wine and share around. Summer night bliss!
I came in over Memorial Day with a thousand questions about fish and lobster... and you patiently answered every question. It is very rare to have the level of customer service that one can get at Jake's!
Thank you Charlie! - .
The seafood here is always fresh! I bought catfish for the first time at the Fish Market and Charlie told me exactly how to cook it and it came out amazing. I need to get back and have a huge bowl of steamers before the season is over for good.

Not one, not two, but three orders of onion rings until we finally had enough. I don't know what they do with these to make them so good, but I'm glad they do it.
Best Onion Rings Ever! - .
I can't stop talking about the fried clams and onion rings at Jake's. They are probably the most consistent restaurant anywhere around. The food is the freshest top of the line fish you will ever eat. Every table has a view of the water at some point. You can even watch the famous Paragon Carousel out several of the windows too.
